Poolsharks Week 5 mid-week Info
Hi Poolsharks -
Thank you all for your hard work last evening! The kids did a great job racing and improving their times and parents matched the effort & enthusiasm with your time & energy in hosting our first meet in 3 years with Leafmore. The final score was VERY close, with Leafmore winning by 12 points (359 - 347). Win or lose, we will rarely emphasize the score of the meet, as success is defined by more than the score. We look at kids growing in their confidence, taking on opportunities for leadership, demonstrating great sportsmanship, trying new races, improving times, and having fun.
One more big thank you is to all of the families for making our Crack of Dawn practice & breakfast my favorite one yet with Venetian. We had 20 parents be a part of our Parents Practice and the food spread with hard working chefs and servers, setter uppers & cleaner uppers, was wonderful for our heart & souls. Thank you families so much for a great morning.
Reminders:
#1) Girl Talk / Guy Talk / Teen Talk - this is taking place tomorrow and Friday - parents must RSVP to provide permission for swimmers to participate. All info is on the form. LINK
#2) Lessons - link in last email was incorrect - if your child is not quite diving, swimming legal breaststroke, side breathing, legal butterfly, flip turning - these are all skills that can greatly improve with 30 minutes of one on one attention. Please consider private lessons with any of our coaching staff. LINK
#3) Dean Farris Pro Clinic - Sunday June 12th, 7 - 8:15 AM. $20. sign up LINK
#4) Relays & Attending Meet - thank you all for your excellent communication for any last minute arrivals/changes to our meet yesterday. Reminder that one child unexpectedly missing from a relay, directly affects 3 other swimmers and possibly the whole age group as we have to shift kids around. If you prefer your child NOT to be in the free relay at the end of the meet due to the later evening hour, please let us know by indicating this when declaring for a meet. We had about 5 kids missing last evening from the last relay, which caused both tears and kids swimming 2 legs of the race (illegal but we had permission from the referee).
#5) Results from meets should be in Swimtopia app along with our team website LINK.
Please continue to reach out with questions/concerns/ideas, I appreciate everyones communication.
Have Fun, Race Hard, Do Your Best, Go Poolsharks!
