Swim Meet 101
If you are wondering - is my child ready for a swim meet? Or, my child does not like competing, should they do the meet or do they have to do meets?
Swimmers are not required to do meets, although we do encourage all kids to give it a try with a positive attitude. This year because we are doing intrasquad meets, we have much more flexibility. For example, normally we have to be 100% sure a child can swim the length of the pool in ~75 seconds or less, independently, as per general league guidelines. This season, if a child needs support the first meet (coach in the pool, kickboard available if needed), we can do this. If you are still not sure, please email me and we can talk through it and make the best decision for your child.

Sharpie your Child's Arm
Please take 5 minutes to sharpie your child’s arm before you arrive to the pool. With 195 kids swimming in the meet, it is a huge help for parent/guardians to sharpie their child’s arm prior to arriving. You can also write your child’s first name, and age group (ex: 6U) on the back of their right shoulder. This is helpful for timers/volunteers to make sure the right kid is in their lane.
