Hi Poolsharks -

It was great to be back at our home pool hosting our neighbors last evening, the Lake Claire Wahoos. Thank you very much to all of the families for making time to get your kids to the meet, volunteer, and cheer on the swimmers during a 98 degree day.

Shout outs:

*We had 148 races that earned ‘Speeding Bullet’ best times

*Jayla N’Diaye - broke a 10+ year team record in the girls 15-18 50 breaststroke previously held by Catherine Thibadeau, who is now the Art teacher at Decatur HS. Way to go Jayla!

Schedule for next week:

Monday: Dual Meet HOME vs Winding Vista - Senior Night & Spirit theme 80’s night - come dressed to impress!

Tuesday: regular donut/awards and last swim practice day

Wednesday: Divisionals @ Georgia Tech - we have solid & mighty 87 Poolsharks heading to our Championship meet to represent our team. I will send a separate email this Saturday to Divisional families after the warmup times & heat sheets have been released late Friday night. There is NO Poolshark practice this day as all coaches will be at Divisionals.

Thursday: LAST DAY of Season - semi-regular AM practice times - we will have our End of Season Celebration including penny dive, games, fun relays & recognize 6 Poolsharks of the Year.

*Following along with the theme of Flat Stanley (elementary school reading/writing project) , we now have ‘Flat Poolsharky.’ As you walk into the pool, look on the left at the bulletin board attached to the dance hall - we’d love to post pictures of Poolsharks wearing Venetian gear AROUND the WORLD. *Starfish End of Year Celebration - this Friday June 24th is our LAST DAY for Starfish. If your swimmer volunteered this season as a Starfish coach and would like to be a part of our Starfish celebration on Friday, please let Coach Ashley know @ [email protected] or 404.401.2655 so we can be sure to include & recognize them.

*Poolshark End of Season Celebration - we will have a Mom vs Mom & Dad vs Dad water polo tourney. Fun and friendly, great exercise and a chance to shine in front of your kids while they cheer everyone on. We would love to have 12 moms & 12 dads sign up to play. LINK to sign up. No previous experience needed. Just be able to swim and throw/catch a ball. Water polo is just like soccer, but completely opposite.

9:00 9-12 penny dive

9:10 teen penny dive

9:20 Mixed Age Group Freestyle Relays (each team must have 3 girls, 3 boys and one swimmer from each of the 6 age groups 6U, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18.)

9:40 Moms Water Polo Game (need 10-12 players) sign up LINK
