Poolsharks Week 9 - Senior Night, 80's Night, 8 more parents please for water polo

Hi Poolsharks -

Welcome to Week 9 and our last week of the 2022 season. Tomorrow, Monday June 27th, will be our last dual meet of the season, as we host Winding Vista Vipers @ 5:30. It will be Senior Night and 80’s Spirit Night. I am really hoping my Hulk Hogan t-shirt arrives before the meet so I can represent my professional wrestling dreams of the 80’s.

Weather for tomorrow night looks 50/50. We will swim in rain, but will follow the 30 min thunder delays if/as they happen. Meets should not go past 9:30, so that will be a hard stop time for wherever we are at. Please make sure to communicate with your child your Meet Up point in case of storm. The away team uses the dance hall so the holding zone area for Poolsharks would either be in restrooms, or your cars if they are relatively close. I’ll communicate all weather related delays via Remind texts.

During the volunteer switch-a-roo at Event #40 (~ 7:36 pm), we will celebrate our 5 graduating seniors:

Finn Blackmon - Druid Hills HS, attending the University of Mississippi, majoring in marketing.

Katie Blount - Druid Hills HS, attending Elon University, will run track and XC.

Adele Dieser - Marist HS, attending LSU, majoring in kinesiology.

Phin Johnson - Decatur HS, attending Furman University, studying economics.

Will Harrast - Marist HS, attending Whitman University, looking forward to college.

Volunteer for tomorrow night - we have about 50 volunteer positions still open - please sign up for a spot and support our team LINK

Parent Water Polo LINK - we have 8 parents already signed up to play during our Thursday AM end of season celebration - looking for AT LEAST 8 more parents - you will have FUN and burn some calories and make a new friend or two and impress your kids.

Schedule for this week:

Monday: Dual Meet HOME vs Winding Vista - Senior Night & Spirit theme 80’s night - come dressed to impress! Heat Sheets and Handwriters have been posted on our website. LINK

Tuesday: regular donut/awards and last swim practice day

Wednesday: Divisionals @ Georgia Tech - there is NO Poolshark practice this day as all coaches will be at Divisionals.

Thursday: LAST DAY of Season - semi-regular AM practice times - we will have our End of Season Celebration including penny dive, games, fun relays & recognize 6 Poolsharks of the Year.
