Good evening Poolshark families -

We are exactly 3 weeks away from the start of 2024 Poolshark season (Wed May 1st).  A more detailed email about the season will be sent early next week. This email is mostly about KEY DATES so families can start setting up their calendars.

Practice times & general info is available via our team website HERE.  If and when you have questions, please check our team website first, before reaching out. 

Swim Caps: personalized swim caps are available this year.  To order (either personalized or traditional), see Google Form HERE.  Deadline to order is April 17th.  

New to Venetian Swimmers: we need info on your swimmer to assess their skill set / times, so we can group them as best possible.  All swimmers new to Venetian (Poolsharks & Starfish) should complete google form HERE by Wed April 17th.  All returning Poolsharks from 2023 do NOT need to complete this form.   

2024 Poolshark Sponsorships: we love & appreciate & count on our Poolshark sponsors - if you are a local business owner or connected to a local business, please consider supporting our team in this manner and helping spread the word.  HERE is the sponsorship google form (PDF with info attached).  Sponsorship deadline is Wed May 1st.

KEY DATES:
First Important Date is this Sunday April 14, 2 - 3:30 pm

Team Suit Fitting - LINK to our merchandise site via Reddiset (will be updated soon with team suit) - Poolshark team suits are in 2 year rotations - we will be racing in a new suit this 2024 season, the Speedo ST Vortex Maze.  Team suit is not required, about 75% of the team does wear the team suit.  Girls have several options for the back (ex flyback), boys can wear speedo brief style or jammers style.  

When: Sunday April 14, 2 - 3:30 pm

Where: Decatur First United Methodist Church fellowship hall, 300 E Ponce de Leon Ave, Decatur, GA 30030

Who: all Poolsharks are encouraged to stop by - it is very helpful to try swimsuits on so you make sure the fit is just right. Most sizes will be available to purchase on site and bring home. Reddiset is our equipment outfitter - they may have a few more materials available for purchase (fins, goggles) but will focus on swimsuits.  Fins are required for 100% of our Poolsharks (Starfish is optional).  Popular options are HERE on the reddiset website.

*Sunday April 21, 7:30 - 8 pm VIRTUAL ZOOM - required parent meeting (swimmers are welcome to join) - link will be shared a few days beforehand.

*Wed May 1st - first day of season (all swimmers - Poolsharks & Starfish)

*Tues May 21 - Time Trials (Starfish can participate)

*Mon May 27 Memorial Day Crack of Dawn practice 6-9 am (all swimmers in town)

*Tuesday May 28 - Dual Meet 1 home vs Leafmore (Starfish can participate)

*Tues June 4 - Dual Meet 2 away vs Echo Ridge (no Starfish)

*Tues June 11 - Dual Meet 3 away vs Winding Vista (no Starfish)

*Tues June 18 - Dual Meet 4 home vs Twin Lakes (Starfish can participate)

*Mon June 24 - Dual Meet 5 home vs HLHK (Starfish can participate)

*Wed June 26th morning session - ASA Divisionals @ Georgia Tech (separate $30 entry fee per swimmer)

*Thursday June 27th during practice times - last day of season & end of year celebration @ Venetian
