Poolsharks - required parent zoom meeting Sunday 7:30 - 8 pm
Hi Poolsharks -
Thank you to the Board & member volunteers who have been working hard all day today to get the pool ready for everyone on Day 1.
The pool is heating up, 76 degrees surface temp - this is MUCH warmer than last spring, when we started around 65 degrees. (Link to VPCA pool temp here - for perspective, competition pools like Emory/Ga Tech are 77 - 81 regulation).
Tomorrow (Sunday April 21) is our pre season required parent meeting - all content will be child appropriate & your swimmers are welcome & encouraged to join.
How long: 7:30 - 8 pm, 30 minutes
What: general information, a brief hello from each of our paid coaches, Q & A at the end

Swim Caps: personalized swim caps are available this year. To order (either personalized or traditional), see Google Form HERE. Deadline to order is updated to April 22nd.
New to Venetian Swimmers: we need info on your swimmer to assess their skill set / times, so we can group them as best possible. All swimmers new to Venetian (Poolsharks & Starfish) should complete google form HERE by Monday April 22nd. All returning Poolsharks from 2023 do NOT need to complete this form.
2024 Poolshark Sponsorships: we love & appreciate & count on our Poolshark sponsors - if you are a local business owner or connected to a local business, please consider supporting our team in this manner and helping spread the word. HERE is the sponsorship google form (PDF with info attached). Sponsorship deadline is Wed May 1st.
Suits & Euipment: Reddiset is our equipment outfitter. Fins are required for 100% of our Poolsharks (Starfish is optional). Popular options are HERE on the reddiset website. HERE is a website from my fellow UGA swim alum AB Fish - she has great info on which fins are best for which ages. Reddiset will have a handful of these today for kids to try on and check out. Poolshark team suits are in 2 year rotations - we will be racing in a new suit this 2024 season, the Speedo ST Vortex Maze. Team suit is not required, about 75% of the team does wear the team suit. Girls have several options for the back (ex flyback), boys can wear speedo brief style or jammers style.
