hi Poolsharks -

We are ready & excited for tomorrow's Time Trials.  

Biggest reminders - we expect kids to be their best selves while competing, listening to parent volunteers in age group bullpens, cheering on & supporting teammates.  20% of our team is new to the Poolsharks and we will let kids know it is OK and normal to be nervous!  The lake lane area will be CLOSED to our swimmers during the meet with the exception of our teenagers who are allowed to warm down (they create the most lactic acid and need the warm down recovery the most).  All of these reminders will be given during our team talk pre meet.  

There is limited parking in the woods - please save these spots for our coaches.

If you have a big/little buddy, tomorrow is a great opportunity to cheer each other on, share a written note of encouragement of good luck.

HERE is the general info/timeline that I give to our coaches, it may be helpful to look.

HERE is the Heat Sheet for tomorrow.  

HERE is the handwriters for tomorrow (organized by age group - it should list your child's name & their event/heat/lane so you don't have to scan the entire heat sheet).  If possible, try to sharpie your kids before they get to the meet.  (How to sharpie a swimmer HERE).  Please also try to write their name, VPCA and age group on the back right shoulder blade.  If you can't do this ahead of time, no stress - Coach Greta & Coach Jayla will be on deck to help swimmers get sharpied up as kids arrive.  

Reminder to download the Swimtopia app as it will keep all of your child's data in a neat little place.

Concessions tomorrow will be delicious - Sybil & Robbie (parents of Rutland and Campany) - our amazing concessions lead volunteers will be selling all the good stuff and have full concessions- chick fil a, raging burrito, bbq sandwiches, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, candy, drinks.  Electronic payments are accepted.  

This Thursday during afternoon practice, local professional photographer Lindsey Lingenfelter will be available individual/sibling photos.  Lindsey's pictures are beautiful, her disposition is calm & lovely, and she is excited to be a part of our photos this year.  There are 25 slots available for this Thursday - if those fill up and demand is high - Lindsey will return next week 1-2 mornings to take more photos.

Finally, we will attempt to take one team photo before the meet begins at ~ 5:15 pm- this will NOT be a professional photo, and parents are welcome to take pictures with their phones/cameras.  We will be missing about 45 kids from our team tomorrow, so it is not a full team photo.  Team pictures make me anxious as it can be a hot mess trying to get 230 kids settled into one picture but we will do our best to be efficient & timely.  We will take the team photo on the little hill between the dirt basketball court & the volleyball court.
