Heat Sheets & Handwriters (Barracudas @ Venetian)

hi Poolsharks -

Great racing last night, as we shared with the swimmers this AM, we fought hard to our 2nd place finish!!!  There is no such thing as losing in summer league as long as we are great teammates, demonstrate great sportsmanship, race hard, have fun & do our best!

*We are co-theming with the Barracudas for 80's/Neon night.  Come bright and shiny representing one of the best decades from the 1900's.

*Heat sheets for tomorrow HERE

*Handwriters for tomorrow HERE

*Either way if you declared YES/NO, please double check to make sure your child's data is correct - I think there are a few families that declared yes/no for our original meet, that may not have updated their status for our makeup meet tomorrow (Thurs June 12).

*Reminder that tomorrow we will have a 5:30 start time, beginning with Event #0 at 5:20

*All Poolsharks should arrive ~ 4:00 to 4:10 window, in time for our 4:15 warmups.

*If we have bad weather again...we will send updates via Remind regarding arrival delays, warmup situation, etc.

*Between event #34 and #35, we will also celebrate Ani Painter, 2025 Decatur HS graduate.  Ani is planning to take a gap year this year, before attending Emory University in Fall 2026.  We will have 2 senior celebrations this season, so we can honor all 4 of our seniors (our 2nd senior night will be Monday June 23rd to celebrate Cannon, Theo & Eleanor).

*Reminders for us as gracious hosts to the Barracudas (we received positive compliments from several WV parents last night, how they felt welcomed and cared for - YAY!!! - thank you Poolsharks for being kind & friendly!)

- this is the team that their beloved Head Coach Thomas Benefield recently passed away and his family continues to be part of the team as coaches & supporters

- our parking lot is reserved for visitors (handicap spots are for both teams)

- turf areas are for Venetian, all other areas should be for visiting teams

*SPACES:

- Lane 1 side area on deck (where coaches stand) is for coaches, volunteers, kids moving through the bullpen.  Exceptions include - grandparents or folks with mobility issues from either team are welcome to watch their child swim from here during their races.  And parents of any children with special needs are also welcome to watch their child's races from here.  Thank you for being thoughtful of the spaces where we are supposed to be on deck and throughout, and following these guidelines while also being kind to our volunteers who help manage each area.

- The area behind the blocks should be limited to active swimmers, volunteers and coaches.  Parents (unless you are timing) should not be behind the blocks unless it is an emergency.

Parents have been excellent about communication with coaches & the parent committee throughout the season - both with positive accolades that are helpfully encouraging and also with concerns, that we try to quickly address and support as much as possible.

Have Fun, Race Hard, Do Your Best & Go Poolsharks!

- Beth
