Good morning 2026 Poolsharks -

Reminder that we have our team suit fitting today Sunday March 29th, 2:30 - 4 pm @ Decatur FUMC Fellowship Hall.  Info sent by Meghan Welch earlier this week is copy/pasted at bottom of email.

A few notes about team equipment:

• team suit is encouraged but not required (I think ~ 3/4 of the team does wear the team suit), there are several team suit options
• team silver V cap is required for meets (unless your hair is short enough and does not get in eyes) - we will have these available for purchase at the first day of practice if you do not have / did not purchase during registration
• all Poolsharks should have fins (Starfish do NOT need fins).  We have many hand me down fins available in the shed that we will set out for 'first come first serve' during the first week of practice.  You are also welcome to purchase your own fins, my favorites for younger kids (6 - 12) are HERE and teens (13-18) HERE (or similar fins in TYR/Arena).
• you do NOT need to purchase a kickboard unless you really want to - we also have lots of hand me down kickboards available for swimmers to borrow the entire season that they can pick up the first day of practice and return at the end of the season.
• goggles - all swimmers should have 2 pairs of good goggles that fit (make sure they fit snug but not uncomfortable) prior to the first day of practice (you can practice wearing them in the shower and making sure water does not get in them).  THESE are my favorite kind for tweens/teens (they also have kids sizing), and THESE TYR swimples are my favorite for 4-8 year olds.

We will use the team Remind for last minute reminders etc.  Sign up HERE for swimmer last name A-L and HERE for swimmer last name M-Z.  It should be the same as last year.  Please make sure at least one parent per family is signed up because this will be our primary communication for when things come up last minute (usually weather related as May/June can be stormy).

Location: Decatur First United Methodist Church (300 East Ponce De Leon Ave, Decatur)- park in the parking lot on the Commerce Ave side and entrance is at the covered walkway
